A cheetah and a rescue puppy found a unique friendship in each other, and its documented in a series of adorable videos.
When Kumbali, the cheetah, was 2 weeks old, caretakers at the Metro Richmond Zoo noticed that he was losing weight. In order for the cheetah to gain weight, caretakers started bottle feeding him.
Apparently, his mother was no longer producing enough milk, hence, even when they wanted to bring Kumbali back to his family, it would only lead to more weight loss for the young cheetah, making caretakers resort to continued bottle feeding, CBS News reported.
Kumbali started gaining weight and became as strong as expected of a cheetah. However, it became obvious that the feline needed a companion.
Zoo keepers decided to introduce Kumbali to Kago, a Labrador mix dog adopted from a rescue centre when it was 10 weeks old. Kago already had experienced being a company for cheetahs because of their calming nature.
The pair was a little unsure of each other at first, but like dogs, cheetahs are sociable animals despite being known as ferocious animals. Now, the friendship shared between the duo appears to be a match made in heaven, the Daily Mail reported.
