Apple announced that it will hold an iPad event on October 22 to unveil its new iPad 5, iPad mini 2, Mac Pro and OSX Mavericks.
The Cupertino-based company has not confirmed anything yet about the details of the event as well as the venue, according to AllThingsD. Previous Apple events were held in the Cupertino HQ in California where the iPhone 5S and 5C was unveiled and in California Theatre for the iPad Mini and MAC devices.
Leaks on the features say that there would be not much of a difference in the look of the new iPads. It would generally be the same except for minor changes such as a thinner body, portrait-shaped bezel and angular edges.
The 5th gen iPad will have a lighter thin design and will feature an enhanced camera. It will also be powered by Apple's 64-bit A7 chip.
The 2nd gen iPad mini on the other hand will also run on an A7 chip and will feature Retina display. It will also come in new shades similar to the new iPhone 5S.
Earlier rumors suggest that the new Apple iPad models will be equipped with the same technology found in iPhone 5S--the Touch ID finger print scanner. This new feature is what piques the interest of Apple enthusiasts.
The Touch ID fingerprint sensor lets the iPhone 5S issue commands by using the home button, such as unlocking the gadget and make purchases in iTunes. This feature would truly come in handy for iPad users but no official reports has confirmed that this technology will be expanded to iPad models or only limited to iPhones.
For the OS X Mavericks and the MAC Pro, people are expecting to hear the retail prices or at least the date of their release.
The OS X Mavericks is a successor to the OS X Mountain Lion that was released last year. It had its WWDC debut and the software's final model was just provided to Apple's developers first week of October. The MAC Pro on the other hand showcased its brand new design last June in the Apple developer conference.
Other anticipated announcements are software updates or changes to MAC products such as MAC Mini and MacBook Pro.
It is not only Apple that will hold an event in October 22. Nokia is also having a Nokia World Event in Abu Dhabi to showcase the new Lumia lineup while Microsoft will also unveil its Surface 2 tablets.
