Google added one more feather to its cap with the release of its latest Chromebook edition, Tuesday. The search engine giant collaborated with HP to come up with the HP Chromebook 11.
The extremely light weight laptop has some high end features and it comes with an affordable price tag, $279. The Chromebook comes in a plastic body yet the device is sturdy enough with a protective magnesium outer covering, reveals Mashable.
The Chromebook 11 sports a 11-6 inches display with a brightness output of 300 units and also includes an off angle viewing of 176 degrees. However, the resolution density for the laptop, 1366 X 768 pixels may slightly disappoint its buyers. The laptop runs on the Chrome operating system and is powered by a dual-core Samsung Exynos processor. All bugs in the earlier Google Chromebooks have been addressed. This laptop though lacks an adequate storage capacity with 2GB RAM and 16 GB hard drive storage capacity.
There are certain positive points as it is a lightweight weighing only 2.3 pounds that makes the device ultra-portable. The laptop has a 6 hour battery and requires a micro-USB charger that is available with most smartphones hence requires no extra charger. The device packs two speakers below the keyboard. The device also includes two standard USB 2.0 ports and a SlimPort video output. Chromebook 11 is equipped with dual-band Wi-Fi (802.11n) and Bluetooth Smart Ready (4.0).The laptop is available in two colour variants white and black. The white model offers color accents around the keyboard, namely blue, red, yellow and green.
The laptop brings in many of the Google tools at free of cost and a few other added facilities like Qickoffice and photo editing software for its users, according to ibnLive. The free digital goodies include 100GB drive storage, a 60-day free trial with Google Play Music All Access and 12 sessions of GoGo in-flight Internet.
The device can be purchased online on Google PlayStore and in Best Buy and Amazon.
