A star-studded crew gathered on Saturday for a pet cause - literally. At the Last Chance For Animals Annual Gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, the guest list included Pamela Anderson, Priscilla Presley, Joe Mantegna ("Criminal Minds"), EG Daily ("Pee-wee's Big Adventure"), legendary songwriter Diane Warren (legendary songwriter), Chuck Zito ("Sons of Anarchy"), Erin Murphy ("Bewitched") and Zach Ward ("Titus").
Anderson was the proud recipient of this year's Vegan of The Year award in recognition of her animal advocacy. Her former "Baywatch" co-star Alexandra Paul, a past honoree, presented Anderson with the award.
HNGN's own premier photographer (and musician), Christopher Ameruoso, presented Priscilla Presley with the prestigious Celebrity Award, but not before opening the evening with an acoustic performance of "I Want Candy" with singer Annabella Lwin of Bow Wow Wow.
Joe Mantegna presented his friend, Shera Danese-Falk, wife of the late Peter Falk, with the "Albert Schweitzer Award." She summed up the spirit of the evening in her acceptance speech, reminding everyone, "There is only one way to be with animals - and that is kind."
LCA founder Chris DeRose presented his friend, author Martha Grimes, with the Sam Simon Award, which was created in memory of the late "The Simpsons" co-creator.
After receiving the Philanthropist of the Year Award, attorney, writer and producer, Steven J. Bernheim reminded everyone that "It is not enough to just say you love animals - you have to do something."
Radio & TV host Mark Thompson, along with "America's Next Top Model" star Katie Cleary, hosted the star-studded event, which was underwritten by an anonymous donor, allowing the more than $1 million raised to go directly to LCA.
Thirty-one years ago, former actor DeRose left Hollywood for his real passion, helping animals. He formed Last Chance for Animals, a non-profit organization dedicated to stopping animal exploitation and abuse.
