Apple's latest installments in its flagship lineup of smartphones was released for public consumption on Sept. 18 in the U.S., Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the U.K. While the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C devices have been met with sales success a good portion of the world has been cut off from being able to purchase the device.
On Oct. 25, the company has announced that it will be making the new iPhone devices available in countries and regions scheduled to receive the phone in other parts of the world. These countries include: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, French West Indies, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macau, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Reunion Island, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan and Thailand, according to CNET.
If you're worried that your country or region is not on the map, have no fear. The company has plans to roll the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C out to more countries starting on November 1. Just before the holiday season, the devices will go on sale in the following areas: Albania, Armenia, Bahrain, Colombia, El Salvador, Guam, Guatemala, India, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
Since its launch on Sept. 20, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C have landed among the top three selling smartphones for the big four U.S. wireless carriers according to Canaccord Genuity investment bank, via AppleInsider. The 5S and 5C took first and second place respectively for Sprint and AT&T. The Samsung Galaxy S4 pushed the iPhone 5C down to third when it came to Verizon and T-Mobile retailers.
Canaccord notes that their research showed "very strong initial sales and back orders for the iPhone 5s and strong iPhone 5c sales" in both the U.S. and international markets. The devices each launched to record breaking sales numbers in their late September opening weekends and demand for the two smartphones from Apple continues to be steady. Only time will tell if the new iPhones will experience the same welcome in other countries.
