‘Baby Daddy’ Star Jean-Luc Bilodeau Hospitalized After Halloween Costume Catches Fire, Suffers Burns To Legs And Arms

"Baby Daddy" star Jean-Luc Bilodeau is reportedly recovering from burns after his Halloween costume caught fire during a party on Saturday. The 24-year-old Canadian actor attended a Halloween party thrown by his co-star Tahj Mowry, TMZ reported.

The actor wore an alpaca costume that reportedly featured a Lycra suit with cotton balls glued onto it. However, the costume caught fire when Bilodeau accidentally backed into a tiki torch. Paramedics were called, and Bilodeau was taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for burns on his arms and legs.

"Jean-Luc's costume caught on fire when he got too close to an open flame and he suffered burns to his legs and arms," his rep said in a statement, according to Deadline. "From what we understand, it was no one's fault and this was merely a freak accident. Per his doctor, he is expected to make a full recovery.

"While this accident is extremely unfortunate, it serves as a reminder that Halloween costumes and Halloween makeup can be extremely dangerous and flammable. Please exercise precautions this season and be mindful of what you are putting on your body and face."

ABC Family said in a statement that Bilodeau suffered a non-life threatening injury and is expected to make a full recovery. As for his comedy series, production schedule for season five of "Baby Daddy" is being "rearranged to accommodate him." A source told Us Weekly that Bilodeau has received visits from his co-stars and is reportedly "in good spirits."

Bilodeau plays Ben Wheeler, a guy in his early 20's living in New York City who finds his baby daughter left on his doorstep by an ex-girlfriend and decides to raise her on his own. The cast includes Mowry, Derek Theler, Melissa Peterman and Chelsea Kane.

"Baby Daddy" was renewed for a fifth season in February and will premiere Feb. 3 at 8:30 p.m. on the rebranded network Freeform.
