The Jonas Brothers have officially canceled their fall tour two days before it was about to begin due to a "deep rift within the band," their spokesperson told People magazine, explaining that there is "a disagreement over their music direction."
Said disagreement took place over the weekend, prompting the band to cancel their 19-date tour which was scheduled to begin this Friday and cover big cities from New York to Seattle. Ticket holders will receive a full refund for their money.
As of yet, it is unclear what is in store for the future of the band signed to Disney's Hollywood Records label, as their rep told People, "It remains to be seen."
The brothers, also known by fans as the "JoBros," got their start on the Disney Channel and quickly rose to fame, having starred in 2008's "Camp Rock" and the sequel, "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam." Consisting of Nick, 21, Joe, 24, and Kevin, 25, the band soon went on to release four albums and become a teen pop sensation around the world.
Though they are no longer teen heartthrobs, the Jonas Brothers, having sold over 20 million albums worldwide, have found success pursuing their own solo careers and through Kevin's E! reality television series, "Married to Jonas."
Their latest tour is for their upcoming fifth studio album, "V," featuring new songs "Pom Poms," "First Time" and "Wedding Bells," though a release date for the project has yet to be announced.
Most recently, the brothers spoke to Out magazine about the persistent gay rumors circulating the mean, Joe stating, "We have a lot of gay friends and gay fans. It's a boy band stereotype; people assume, but we don't take offense."
"I loved theater and I still do, and I care about fashion, and I care about a lot of things that I feel like stereotypes are attached to," added Nick.
A source close to the band told People that the decision to cancel the tour had nothing to do with Kevin and his wife Danielle expecting their first child together, assuring fans it was due to "creative differences."
