As far as relationships go in the sophomore season of “Arrow”, it seems Laurel/Oliver could finally happen. However, there are still many fans cheering for Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards)—better known as ‘Olicity’—to become a thing. According to EOnline, it could happen.
"Hey, she's gorgeous and smart and funny and caring and Stephen's certainly a good-looking guy, so why shouldn't they be together,” showrunner and executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told the website.
Olicity fans recently got another glimpse of hope in this promo below, as Oliver lands on top of Felicity and an adorable moment ensues:
Although the signs are there (and we’re really waiting for those signs to become reality) Kreisberg says viewers shouldn’t expect a passionate make-out scene anytime soon.
"As far as actually making it happen, for right now,” the showrunner explains, “I think it's better to have people shipping them instead of actually getting what they want and be disappointed."
While Felicity is definitely planning to help Oliver this season, his other potential love interest Laurel (Katie Cassidy) has something else in mind.
Laurel has vowed to take down the archer.
“Laurel’s joined the district attorney’s office … now that CNRI has been destroyed,” Kreisberg recently told TV Line.
The website also recently received photos that hint at a success in Laurel’s mission. In the photos which can be viewed here, she (and a S.W.A.T. team) have seemingly caught the archer.
You can watch a promo of Laurel declaring her objective below.
“Arrow” returns tonight at 8/7c on The CW.
