Julianna Snow: Sick 5-Year-Old Girl Chooses ‘Heaven’ Over ‘Hospital’ (PHOTO)

Five-year-old Julianna Snow was given a choice to choose heaven or to choose staying in the hospital. The young girl is afflicted with the untreatable illness called the Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and her parents gave her the right to choose.

Parents Michelle Moon and Steve Snow have explained to their daughter that heaven is where she can do things she can no longer do such as playing and running and where she will be able to meet her great-grandmother. Julianna's disease no longer lets her attend Sunday school at their City Bible Church located in Portland, Ore. where her family resides. It's been a year since she had her last infection, but faces the danger of having pneumonia since her lungs are too weak, according to New York Daily News.

When she was four years old, she was finally asked by her parents if she wanted to stay in the hospital if she becomes seriously sick again, or just stay home and finally go to heaven. It was the young girl who opted for heaven, according to Inquisitr.

Through a blog post, mother Michelle Moon posted a conversation between her and her daughter.

"She made it clear that she doesn't want to go through the hospital again," her mother said, according to CNN. "So we had to let go of that plan because it was selfish."

Her parents were criticized for letting the girl decide her fate and for thinking that a girl at her age can already understand and decide for her life. Her mother decided to post another article to further explain their decision.

"We have had more conversations, mostly initiated by Julianna," Moon wrote on the post, according to USA Today. "She's scared of dying, but has, to me, demonstrated adequate knowledge of what death is. She hasn't changed her mind about going back to the hospital, and she knows that this means she'll go to heaven by herself. If she gets sick, we'll ask her again, and we'll honor her wishes."
