MLB NEWS: Nolan Arenado, Anthony Rendon and Didi Gregorius Among Super Two Qualifiers

There are a few youngsters in the MLB that are set to get big raises before the 2016 season. Nolan Arenado, Anthony Rendon and Didi Gregorius are among this year's Super Two qualifiers, who will become eligible for arbitration a year earlier than the average player.

A player must accrue a certain amount of service time to qualify as a Super Two candidate. Specifically, they must "rank in the top 22% of service time among players with between two and three years of service," according to FanGraphs.

This offseason the Super Two cutoff will be 2.130, meaning the eligible Super Two qualifier would have amassed two years and 130 days of service time at the MLB level. Just for future reference, 172 service days equals one service year and players require six years of service before they can hit free agency.

The most notable Super Two case from last season was that of Bryce Harper's. The 23-year-old accrued enough service time to qualify and that allowed him to opt out of his five-year, $9.9 million deal with the Washington Nationals to sign a new two-year, $7.5 million deal. After that deal expires he has two years of arbitration eligibility left in 2017 and 2018.
