Harrison Ford touched on some serious matters, including his plane crash earlier this year and his upcoming role in the highly anticipated film "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," while on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Thursday night, but it was a little hard not to giggle as he did this all while dressed as a hot dog.
While he couldn't reveal much about the plot of "Star Wars," even though Kimmel continuously insisted he did, he was able to talk about the film's quality. "What is there to say? And why would you want to say anything?," the 73-year-old actor told the host, who was dressed as Princess Leia. "I want the audience to experience it, I don't want them to hear anything about it."
Even though Ford couldn't say anything about the J.J. Abrams-directed film, he was able to share his opinion. "It's really, really good. Trust me. It's really good," he told Kimmel. "The new cast-Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac-are phenomenal. J.J. has made an incredible movie. You will not be disappointed at all. I promise you."
Ford was a little more open when it came to talking about his near-fatal plane crash earlier this year for the first time. Back in March, the engine of the plane he was flying malfunctioned and left him in the hospital for almost a month with some serious injuries, as HNGN previously reported.
"Yeah I remember. Not all of it, I remember some of it. I remember the engine stopping," he explained to Kimmel explained to Kimmel. "I remember that part very well. And then I remember telling the tower what I was going to do, and then I remember their suggestion. Their suggestion was that I take the normal route to land, and I knew I wasn't going to do that, so I said no. And that's the last thing that I remember until five days afterwards...I'm told by the doctors that the amount of general anesthetic that I got induced a retrograde amnesia."
