It's week eight in the NFL, and many fantasy owners out there are in need of a big win this week. With many teams having a bye this week, it is a good time to find a solid pick off the waiver wire. Two running backs this week will be strong plug and plays this weekend, if you can afford to drop someone from your roster.
Andre Ellington - The Arizona Cardinals running back may have fallen to third on the team's depth chart, but he is expected to see an increase load this week. Head coach Bruce Arians said that he has more in the game plan for Ellington against the Cleveland Browns, via Pro Football Talk. Ellington played more last week against the Ravens than he had for most of the season. Ellington saw 18 offensive snaps last week and is expected to get more touches this weekend. Ellington is averaging 7.6 yards per carry this season and had 49 yards on eight touches last week. Ellington will see more carries this week, and in point per reception leagues, he could be huge play. While Chris Johnson looks to be the starter, Ellington looks like a strong plug and play that is available in most leagues.
Reggie Bush - It's hard to commit to the 49ers running back, as he is often injured and usually sitting behind Carlos Hyde. Hyde has been ruled out with a foot injury, and Bush is the favorite to start this upcoming weekend against the St. Louis Rams. Bush was dealing with a calf strain earlier this season, but saw his biggest workload against the Seattle Seahawks last week. Bush has yet to score a touchdown this season, but Sunday will be his perfect opportunity. Bush is a huge play in PPR leagues and is expected to get the majority of the touches on Sunday. Although it's a tough play against St. Louis, Bush is known to play better in domes and always has a chance for a breakaway touchdown. If your struggling to find a flex player or a second running back for this week, Bush could be a solid starter for at least one week.
