'Game of Thrones' Season 4 Spoilers and Filming News: George R. R. Martin Teases 'Purple Wedding of the Year' (PHOTOS)

WARNING: Vague yet possible spoilers ahead!

Fans of George R. R. Martin's medieval fantasy series, "A Song of Ice and Fire," know what's coming on HBO's hit show, "Game of Thrones." Based on current speculation, Martin himself will write the upcoming "wedding of the year," an event that will surely shock many fans.

Recently, filming photos from the season 4 set were leaked online, including pictures of armour, set pieces and extras in costume, several of which WinterIsComing.net suspects may be included in the show's next grandoise wedding event.

“It’s going to be the wedding of the year, and as memorable in its own way as our wedding last season,” Martin recently told TV Guide. “It’s what the fans call the Purple Wedding, based on the color of the wine, which plays a big part.”

The Purple Wedding will be another shocker, a follow-up to last season's depiction of the infamous Red Wedding in which most of the Starks, including Catelynn and Robb, were massacred under the roof of Walder Frey, an event orchestrated by Lord Tywin Lannister behind-the-scenes in King's Landing. All of those important letters we watched Tywin writing during season 3 were in preparation for the bloodbath.

Martin teased that the Purple Wedding scenes "look spectacular."

"The bride’s dress incorporates roses, there are 77 courses at the dinner feast, and there’s some wonderful halftime entertainment," he said.

If you've read the books, you know what he's getting at.

But for fans who wish to remain unspoiled, it's probably best to avoid Googling "Purple Wedding" and reading "A Song of Ice and Fire" wikis, as the coming event promises even more surprises and likely, more fan reaction videos on YouTube.

In other news, Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) recently posed in full costume with the new actor who is set to play Gregor Clane in season 4, Icelandic strongman Hafþór "Thor" Björnsson, who stands at least a foot taller than the petite Headey.

Fans have noted the color and design of Headey's costume, and predict it will play a big role in the coming events of the series.
