Justin Bieber dropped the music video for his third single "I'll Show You," another Skrillex-produced dance track off his highly anticipated fourth studio album, "Purpose," Entertainment Weekly reported. The introspective lyrics offer another side of the 21-year-old pop star's personality.
"You get it? #IllShowYou #PURPOSE @Skrillex the truth," Bieber wrote on Twitter at midnight, announcing the release of the new track.
Bieber digs deep into his psyche with the lyrics and reflects on his celebrity status with the opening line "My life is a movie / And everyone's watching." He sings "It's like they want me to be perfect / But they don't even know that I'm hurting" over Skrillex's ethereal dance beats, similar to the previous Bieber-Skrillex collaborations "Where Are U Now" and "Sorry."
In the video, Bieber walks on top of green mountains and sits on a cliff overlooking a vast shoreline where he is isolated from civilization. He's one with nature as he walks underneath a waterfall then skateboards on the ruins of an abandoned airplane.
The song's lyrics seem to explain Bieber's recent behavior, where the singer walked out of a live radio interview in Spain and stormed off stage during a concert Oslo, Norway, as previously reported by HNGN. Bieber posted an apology via Instagram.
"Sadly it's Been a rough week for me, long days no sleep, while having to be 'on' as they would say for cameras fans etc," Bieber wrote in a caption on Instagram. "In no way did I mean to come across mean, but chose to end the show as the people in the front row would not listen. Hopefully people will understand where I am coming from. I don't always handle things the right way but I'm human and I'm working on getting better at responding not reacting."
