It's a white Christmas at Starbucks! Yes, we will be sipping a new holiday latte, and it's going to be flat white.
"This year, customers will find a new seasonal favorite beverage which builds upon the popularity of our flat white and holiday beverages," said CEO Howard Schultz during the coffee company's Q4 earnings report.
True to its name, the Starbucks Holiday Spiced Flat White will be a blend of the classic flat white ingredients and some spices - perhaps nutmeg or cinnamon, Cosmopolitan reports.
Flat white beverages were first blended in the '80s in Australia. In January, Starbucks introduced flat white handcrafted espresso beverages in the United States and Canada.
"The Starbucks Flat White is an espresso beverage made with two ristretto shots, combined with a thin layer of velvety steamed whole milk and finished with a latte art dot. A ristretto shot delivers a sweeter, more intense coffee flavor. Starbucks baristas perfectly steam milk into creamy micro-foam and carefully free pour to allow the espresso to rise to the top of the beverage for a bold coffee flavor with a sweeter finish. The Starbucks Flat White joins the core menu line-up of espresso beverages like Caffé Americano, Caffé Latte, Cappuccino, Doppio Espresso and Espresso Macchiato," wrote Starbucks.
Not much has been revealed about the mysterious and much-anticipated beverage. Rumors say it will be out on Nov. 30. True or not, the caffeine treat will surely be launched soon given that Starbucks already is mixing its holiday lattes once again.
Last year's hit, Chestnut Praline Latte, is back along with other recent favorites - Caramel Brulée and Peppermint mocha. The classic Christmas treats, the Gingerbread latte and Classic Eggnog latte, are also back, reports Refinery29.
Starbucks has been making it a habit to trap the momentous seasons in our coffee cups.
