Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's much-hyped directorial venture "Shivaay" that stars Devgn along with newcomer Sayesha Saigal in lead roles is all set for production on Nov. 4.
"The movie will roll on Nov. 7 in Mussoorie and there is a long shooting schedule planned in various places," Devgn's spokesperson said, according to Mid Day. The majority of the movie will be filmed in Bulgaria.
The two-time national award-winning veteran actor, known for his intense roles in movies like "Jakhm" and "Gangajal," plays the title role in the movie. Legendary star couple Dilip Kumar and Saira Bano's grandniece Sayesha Saigal is making her Bollywood debut in the film.
"He wanted to finish his other commitments to focus solely on 'Shivaay,'" the spokesperson said, according to Pinkvilla. It is Devgn's second directorial project after 2008's "U, Me Aur Hum," which featured his wife, Kajol, alongside him.
"Shivaay," which revolves around the imperfections of Lord Shiva, will clash with Karan Johar's "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" at the box office on Diwali, Oct. 28, 2016, according to Indian Express.
"As a Lord Shiva devotee, I like the characteristics of Shiva. My film is not a mythology. It's a modern film. Shiva is the only God, who had flaws like a human being. All the other Gods are perfect. Shiva loved 'bhang.' He would get very angry and we call him Bhola because anybody could fool him but all these elements make him so strong and loved," Devgn had said in an interview in August, according to Bollywood Today.
