Bronx Zoo Introduces Otter Pup (PHOTOS AND VIDEO)

Watch out world! There's a teeny pup that's about to take the crown as the most adorable animal known to man — and he comes armed with sharp claws and bucket loads of cuteness! It's Monty, the newborn Asian small-clawed otter pup that was recently introduced at New York's Bronx Zoo

Monty's parents, 11-year-old mom Jasmine and 9-year-old dad Gyan, have made sure their little one is safe from harm, which is impressive given the fact that the two happen to be first-time parents, according to Zoo Borns.

Zookeepers revealed that Monty enjoys munching on fish treats provided to him by Gyan and swimming lessons with his mommy.

The Asian small-clawed otter is the tiniest of the 13 otter species on the planet. They are considered to be vulnerable in the wild due to hunting, pollution and the destruction of its habitat, according to the New York Times.

These otters generally dwell in aquatic environments in the wilderness and are usually found in southern and southeast Asian countries.

Additionally, these types of otters can uphold big family groups, which make them sociable and verbal compared to other types, according to Slate.
