Ben Carson Claims Obamacare Is The Worst Thing Since Slavery (VIDEO)

During a speech at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, outspoken Neurosurgeon Ben Carson compared the Affordable Care Act to slavery, the Hill reported.

"I have to tell you Obamacare is, really I think, the worst thing that's happened in this nation since slavery," Carson said on Friday to conservative activists.

He argued the new health law is like slavery because it makes Americans "subservient" to the government, suggesting it's all about control.

While his recent remarks are controversial, he is not the only political figure who said Obama's law is like slavery. Earlier this month, conservative columnist George Will likened the law to the Fugitive Slave Act.

"I hear Democrats say, 'The Affordable Care Act is the law,' as though we're supposed to genuflect at that sunburst of insight and move on. Well, the Fugitive Slave Act was the law, separate but equal was the law, lots of things are the law and then we change them," Will said.

Carson has become a favorite among conservatives and rose to fame after criticizing President Barack Obama at the National Prayer Breakfast in February. The following month, he spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference and is now known for controversial statements.

The former doctor made headlines after commenting on gay marriage on Fox News earlier this year, receiving severe backlash from same-sex marriage advocates.

"Marriage is between a man and a woman. No group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality, it doesn't matter what they are. They don't get to change the definition," he said to Sean Hannity.

He also accused of white liberals of being racist in April.

"[White liberals are] the most racist people there are," Carson said. "You know, they put you in a little category, a little box -- you have to think this way. How could you dare come off the plantation?"
