When it comes to Sherlock Holmes (Johnny Lee Miller) on “Elementary,” there’s not much we know about him. We know about his past with drugs, we know his father is wealthy and we finally got to meet his brother Mycroft. Outside of those three tid-bits, we don’t really know much.
However, on this Thursday’s episode of CBS’ hit show, we get another glimpse into Sherlock’s past.
In a promo given exclusively to TVLine.com, we finally got to meet woman that started it all for Sherlock—his first murderer.
According to TVLine.com, the murderer, played by Laura Benanti (Go On), is a lady named Abigail Spencer and Sherlock got to analyze her motives for killing when he was only 15.
Every chance fans get to see into the personal life or past of Sherlock should always be appreciated since it pretty much never happens. However, I’m more curious about his future—more specifically the next time we’ll see Natalie Dormer’s Jamie Moriarty.
Last night’s episode ended with Sherlock reading a fairly intimate and personal letter from Moriarty, his arch nemisis and possible love interest.
I am torn when it comes to these two characters.
(Let me first say that I do not want to see Sherlock/Joan (Lucy Liu) together. They need to remain friends. Apparently Miller and the show’s writers are of the same opinion. “The writers are pretty adamant that shouldn't happen, and I have to agree,” Miller recently told TVGuide.com. “There are some things that must remain with Holmes and Watson.”)
However, while it’s apparent that he and Moriarty have chemistry, I enjoy seeing them battle wits. Maybe Sherlock isn’t meant to have a love interest. He himself said he doesn’t believe in that kind of stuff anyway.
“Elementary” airs Thursdays at 10/9c on CBS.
