Miley Cyrus finally opened up about her recent engagement breakup with Liam Hemsworth on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" saying she was happier than ever.
Miley Cyrus has been making headlines for many reasons. Her "some may call peculiar" VMA performance still seems to be the hot topic around. Apart from that Cyrus' recent engagement breakup with Liam Hemsworth has also been the subject of gossip.
Different versions narrating the reason for this break-up have been posted all over the tabloids but neither Cyrus nor Hemsworth officially spoke about the breakup. Finally in the episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," which aired yesterday, Cyrus spoke about the separation.
"So the last time you were here I threw you an engagement party," the show host told Cyrus as she showed a clip of her last appearance in Nov. 2012 with strippers dancing for her. Cyrus wittily asked DeGeneres if she wanted her money back.
DeGeneres took this moment to pop the question about how awkward it is for Cyrus to deal with all the media attention her break-up is getting.
"It's not really as awkward because I'm living it," Cyrus replied. "So I think people spend more time actually thinking about it then I really do. I just believe when a chapter is done you have to close it and start that new one. That's kind of where I am right now. I felt like I have so much to be thankful for at this time that my energy hasn't really been focused on that."
Cyrus went on to say that she hoped her personal life did not overshadow her music career though she admitted that a lot of inspiration for her new album "Bangerz" came from her relationship with Hemsworth.
The couple announced their split earlier in September, after which Hemsworth swiftly went on to being linked with various other ladies.
When asked whether she's still in touch with Hemsworth, Cyrus said that her work was keeping her "super busy" that she hadn't gotten around to meeting anyone yet. Right now, she's just looking to close her chapter with Hemsworth and move on to a new chapter.
The singer also said that when she says she's the happiest now than she had ever been in her life, she doesn't mean it as a dig. She admits that she's obsessed about having some "alone time" and being in a relationship didn't allow her to have any.
Basically, Cyrus is single but currently off the hook as she is engaged to her music career and herself.
