Disney has released the full trailer for "Alice Through the Looking Glass," the upcoming sequel to Tim Burton's 2010 live-action film "Alice in Wonderland," Comic Book reported. The official trailer is the first look at the whimsical, dream-like world inspired by the classic Lewis Carroll novels "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There."
The trailer opens with a tick-tock, and the voice of the Blue Caterpillar (played by Alan Rickman) addressed the title character, calling her back to Wonderland. Alice (Mia Wasikowska) leans through the looking glass and falls through a doorway back to the imaginary land, where the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) is in desperate need of her help. The heroine embarks on a journey to save her friend from the evil villain and new character Time, played by Sacha Baron Cohen.
Helena Bonham Carter also makes an appearance in the trailer as she reprises her role as the evil Red Queen and accepts a gift from Time, sparking what seems like an alliance between the villains.
Tim Burton returns to the project, on board at this time as a producer. Screenwriter Linda Wollverton returns as well, with director James Bobin ("The Muppets" and "Muppets Most Wanted") at the helm, according to IMDB. "Alice Through the Looking Glass" is set for a May 27, 2016 release.
