A 5-year-old boy is being studied by scientists after his mother recorded him recanting numbers that were written out of his view, according to the Daily Mail. The boy is displaying not only telepathic ability, but is a savant as well, as he appears to have learned several languages.
Ramses Sanguino has a high functioning form of autism, but he is still able to learn multiple languages and solve complex math problems. But the aspect that caught the eye of researcher Diane Powell was Sanguino's ability to seemingly read minds, according to the New York Post.
In a video with his mother, 32-year-old Nyx Sanguino, the boy is seen writing Greek and speaking Japanese and Russian. He is also seen reading the mind of his mother.
As she wrote down various numbers, Sanguino would guess them correctly.
The scientist believes that telepathy may be a different form of communication utilized by autistic children who have a need to communicate but can't, according to BarcroftTV. Her study will delve into the ability of Sanguino and hopefully bring some validity to the family's claims.
"I have found many autistic children who have been reported to be telepathic and I wanted to see it for myself and see if it can be evaluated and actually tested under rigorous, controlled conditions," said Powell.
Powell is studying other children around the world as part of her research, and ultimately hopes to get Sanguino into a special school for gifted autistic children.
