The undefeated TCU Horned Frogs travel to Boone Pickens Stadium Saturday to face the undefeated Oklahoma State Cowboys in a huge Big 12 matchup. Both teams come in at 8-0 on the season, and they both know that a loss Saturday could end either of their chances at the College Football Playoff.
Heisman contender Trevone Boykin leads the Horned Frogs offense and is having an incredibly productive season. The senior quarterback has thrown for 2,927 yards this season with 28 touchdowns. Boykin just won five straight games against Big 12 opponents and has thrown 18 touchdowns to two interceptions against conference opponents this season. The TCU quarterback keeps defenses guessing, as he has a big arm but has also rushed for 524 yards this season.
Head coach Gary Patterson will look to get the ball into wide receiver Josh Doctson's hands. The senior wide receiver could be a first round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, and he is the Horned Frogs' big playmaker. Doctson has 71 receptions this season for 1,250 yards and 14 touchdowns. The Horned Frogs will look to get the ball out quickly, as the Cowboys have talented pass rushers.
Oklahoma State defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah will look to get after Boykin all day Saturday. The junior defensive end has 8.5 sacks this season and 12.5 tackles for loss. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound defensive lineman will look to create havoc for TCU's offense and is a key to their success Saturday.
While Ogbah will look to disrupt the Horned Frogs offense, Cowboys quarterback Mason Rudolph will try to lead his team over the TCU defense. Rudolph has struggled with turnovers this season and has 12 touchdowns to 8 interceptions this year. Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy switches his quarterbacks during games and likes to play J.W. Walsh when the team gets in the redzone. The senior backup quarterback is a dual threat as he has thrown for nine touchdowns and rushed for seven. Walsh has only thrown 23 passing attempts this season but has proven to be productive when on the field.
There will be reportedly seven NFL teams sending scouts to watch this game, and it looks to be an exciting matchup. Both teams have still have Baylor and Oklahoma on their schedules, only making this game more important. The game starts at 3:30 p.m. Eastern time and you can watch the live broadcast here.
