Notre Dame: C.J. Prosise Suffers Concussion, Will Fuller Breaks Career TD Record

Notre Dame running back C.J. Prosise reportedly suffered a concussion and possibly a shoulder injury as well, according to Irish Illustrated's Pete Sampson.

Prosise left the game late in the first quarter but was able to walk off the field under his own power. Prosise did not returned to game, and no timetable for his return has been stated. The senior running back is having a huge season for the Irish, and has already rushed over 900 yards this season and scored 11 touchdowns. Prosise had rushed for 26 yards on five carries before leaving the game, but the Irish will still able to pull out a win 42-30 over the Pittsburgh Panthers. Head coach Brian Kelly said after the game that Prosise is day-to-day and the injury did not look serious, but did not reveal if their star running back did suffer a concussion.

Prosise's injury comes as another blow to the Irish, as they have been battling injuries all season. While Prosise's injury comes as bad news for the Irish, star wide receiver Will Fuller had himself a career day on Sunday. Fuller has now broken a Notre Dame record for most career receiving touchdowns, passing Golden Tate and Jeff Samardzija with 28 touchdowns. Fuller had three touchdowns on the day with 152 yards.

The Irish came in this week ranked fifth in the College Football Playoff poll, but may have lost a key piece in Prosise. It's unclear how long Prosise will be out, but the Irish will need him back if they want to make a run at the College Football Playoff.
