Tim Gunn sounded off on Kanye West and the Kardashian-Jenner family in an interview with Huff Post Live. The fashion guru and star of Lifetime's "Project Runway" gave his opinion on West's Yeezy line and the contributions that the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" stars have made to fashion.
When it comes to West, Gunn paused then sighed heavily before delivering some words of harsh criticism for the hip-hop artist's fashion collection.
"Well I'm reminded of the words of a very dear friend of mine, former editor-in-chief of Vogue, Grace Mirabella," Gunn said in his video interview. "I think they're a bunch of dumb clothes, very basic pieces."
Gunn isn't a fan of West's wife Kim Kardashian or her sisters Kourtney, Khloé, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner. He said they aren't fans of his either, and his main gripe with the reality TV stars is their fashion sense.
"When it comes to fashion, I say to people all the time. If you want guidance for your fashion, just consider this - if a Kardashian is wearing it, don't," he said.
He also has a theory as to why Kendall is gaining traction in the modeling world, with her recent gigs as the face for Balmain X H&M and her spot in the 2015 Victoria's Secret fashion show, as previously reported by HNGN.
"I'm assuming there's a huge, perhaps a million dollar a month publicity wagon that is pulling these girls along and creating these lives for them. I'm distrustful of it and I find it all distasteful," Gunn mused about Kendall's career as a fashion model. "She may be a perfectly lovely young woman, I just feel that she's tainted by the Kardashian aura of yuck."
