Mariah Carey is in negotiations to join a voice cast of "The Lego Batman Movie," according to the New York Daily News.
The pop diva is to voice Commissioner Gordon in Warner Bros.' sequel to "The Lego Movie," reported Deadline. While the studio is keeping the cast a secret, sources say that Carey will join a star-studded cast: Ralph Fiennes (Alfred the Butler), Will Arnett (Batman), Michael Cera (Robin), Rosario Dawson (Batgirl) and Zach Galifianakis (The Joker).
The Grammy-award winning songstress has graced the screen before in films like "The Butler," "Precious" and "You Don't Mess with the Zohan." She has voiced animated roles in movies like "The Proud Family" and "American Dad."
While there is no news whether Carey will sing in her latest role, in her first screen appearance in 1999 she was an opera singer opposite Chris O'Donnell in the romantic comedy "The Bachelor," noted The Guardian.
The 45-year-old mom of two adorable twins has had a busy year romantically and professionally. She recently moved in with her billionaire boyfriend James Packer after separating from her husband Nick Cannon last year.
The "All I Want For Christmas Is You" singer recently finished filming "A Christmas Melody," a made-for-TV movie that she directed. She wrote the pop Christmas carol, "All I Want For Christmas Is You," which sold more than 14 million copies internationally and was the biggest holiday hit of Carey's singing career, noted Deadline.
Fans can catch the American pop diva when she will headline holiday concerts next month at the Beacon Theater in New York.
