"The Voice" coaches Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani may have gone public with their budding romance, but the pair kept things very "separate" Tuesday during a pre-show red carpet in Los Angeles to promote the show.
Shelton, paired with fellow "The Voice" coach Pharrell Williams, did his best to dodge questions from reporters regarding his romance with Stefani, while she, paired with Adam Levine on the red carpet, did much the same.
In addition to his new romance, Shelton also made news earlier this week following the announcement that he would be hosting the 2016 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards on March 12.
An accompanying promotional video for the awards show featured "The Voice" coach being epically slimed in slow motion for most of its duration.
Now, Shelton is revealing details of that sliming, along with a warning that his fellow coaches may be next.
"I'm sitting in the chair and they told me they were going to drop the slime and the thing they didn't want me to do, because it wouldn't play out in the commercial was to cover my head," he told HNGN and reporters last night of the experience.
"After being instructed to act like it's the greatest thing that's ever happened to you," Shelton added, "the reality of it is something quite different."
"It's one thing to think that, but the slime feels like the ice-bucket challenge. It's freezing, wet and cold. It doesn't taste like boogers because I tasted those before, then tasted the slime, but it tasted nothing like my boogers."
When quizzed on the possibility of his fellow "The Voice" coaches, including girlfriend Stefani, being coerced into a sliming, Shelton admitted, "I would be into that, but I don't want to give them any warning. I'd want to do it totally live on television and just drop it from the ceiling."
Stefani told People Magazine back in 2007 that she'd say, "No thank-you," to a run in with the green goop. "My hair might never turn back blonde," she revealed.
However, following the news of Shelton's possible surprise attack and her boyfriend's recent encounter, Stefani seems to have had a change of heart and mellowed to the idea.
"I heard he's doing the Kids Choice Awards," she coyly responded when told by HNGN of Shelton' scheme.
"I have not [been slimed] but my kids would love to see that. Only I heard it hurts, it's really powerful and it could knock me over - that's what I heard," she added with a smile. "But I wouldn't be mad, that'd be funny."
