The cause of death of Caleb Logan Bratayley, the YouTube star who passed away last month from an undisclosed illness, was due to an undiagnosed heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, the Bratayley family confirmed on their Instagram page.
The family revealed, along with a black-and-white photo of Caleb, that the illness was not detected during his yearly check-ups.
"Caleb didn't have any symptoms so the doctor said there was nothing we could have done differently," the caption read. Caleb's sisters also had their hearts tested and were given the all clear.
The family then concluded the caption by thanking the people who have reached out for them and that they still miss their "baked potato" everyday.
Caleb's mother revealed last month that he died from an "undetected medical condition" and that the family will get "definitive answers in the coming weeks," as HNGN previously reported.
The popular YouTube star passed away unexpectedly last month at just 13 years old. "This has come as a shock to all of us. Words cannot describe how much we will miss him," his mother wrote while making the announcement on Instagram.
The family held a live memorial service for Caleb on Oct. 6 that was streamed through Facebook and Periscope, and it gained 116,000 views an hour after it was posted.
