An intense outburst in a courtroom in Wake County, N.C. Tuesday had people turning their heads. Kendrick Gregory, a man who is facing charges for a crime spree in August, shouted in the middle of the courtroom, claiming to be the antichrist and making threats to the Empire State Building, according to the New York Daily News.
Gregory, 21, was extradited from New York last week with an accumulation of 10 charges. He made his third appearance in a courtroom on Tuesday, shouting, "I am the Antichrist" and "The Empire State building is going up in flames," ABC 11 reported.
His crazed verbal rampage didn't stop there. "Tell the Illuminati that I'm the Antichrist. I'm here to take over the world," said Gregory.
Gregory was arrested on Sept. 1 after police officers found him in a stolen car, where they found two guns inside. The prior 48-hour crime spree began on Aug. 30 when Gregory high-jacked a car and then stole another car at gunpoint just a few hours later. Then on Aug. 31, Gregory stole a man's wallet while he was at the Knights Inn in North Raleigh, where he shot Lenin Alvaringa, a 27-year-old woman. His rampage didn't stop there, as he drove over to a pawn shop in East Raleigh, where he killed Thomas Melvin Durand, the 64-year-old owner of Mr. Pawn Business, and stole his gun. He then raped a 15-year-old girl before making his way to his getaway car.
Gregory currently faces a robbery, rape and first-degree murder charge, according to News Observer. He will also face grand larceny and gun charges in New York. Gregory was also assigned an attorney since he has a probation violation, and his bond is $2.1 million.
Gregory's mother, Alicia Gregory, said that he tried to commit suicide and had spent some time in two different hospitals for mental health treatment. "He needed a lot of help, and no one really tried to help him," said Alicia, according to the News Observer.
