Netherlands own the No. 1 spot in Group D and have already qualified for a spot in next year's World Cup, IB Times reports. Turkey, meanwhile, is fighting to stay alive - the team needs one more win to guarantee they at least make it into the playoffs. Sitting in second place with 16 points, the same number that Romania has, Turkey boss Fatih Terim stressed the importance of staying focused on Tuesday's match.
"We must focus on the Netherlands game without thinking of Romania's game," Terim told reporters, according to IB Times. "Our players can manage everything. We have to turn this into team work. If the result is not as we hoped, which is also possible, the national team will prepare for European Championship. We will accept this reality.
"We have to achieve balance where defeats or victories do not cause us our sense of reality."
Netherlands manager Louis Van Gaal's team has been hot, and he attributes it to their intensity on the pitch.
"We put the opponent under pressure for the full 90 minutes. The effort and the willingness was enormous," Van Gaal told reporters, via Goal.com. "It's a difficult process to squeeze right from the start and then to sustain it."
