Grammy award-winning singer Jennifer Hudson epitomizes vintage Hollywood glamour fashion in the December 2015 issue of O Magazine. The 34-year-old songstress, who began her illustrious career as a finalist in the third season of "American Idol" in 2004, has come a long way from seventh place.
This month, O Magazine features the singer and actress in retro glam wearing purple designer wear from Tadashi Shoji, Kate Spade and Mandalay, according to The YBF.
"Purple is absolutely my favorite color," Hudson gushes. "My closet is purple, my dressing room is purple, and I even love a purple lipstick!"
The stunning actress makes her Broadway debut in John Doyle's revival of Alice Walker's novel "The Color Purple" at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on Tuesday, Nov. 10 in New York City, reported Just Jared.
The Oscar winner for best supporting role in the 2007 musical movie "Dream Girls" will star opposite the British newcomer, Cynthia Erivo, and the "Orange Is the New Black" star Danielle Brooks, in the Broadway revival of "The Color Purple," noted Entertainment Weekly.
John Doyle is bringing a bare bones revival of "The Color Purple" which was a hit in London in 2013. Ten years after the novel-turned-play debuted on Broadway, it's returning with a star-studded cast.
Hudson said she loves living in New York: “We love seeing musicals. We’ve made it to The Lion King and Wicked already. My son says, ‘Mommy, this feels like home!’”
The December issue of "O Magazine" hits newsstands on Nov. 17. Fans can preview the musical on Broadway today, Nov. 13.
