Lamar Odom remains hospitalized ever since his near-death overdose on Oct. 13, and while he is slowly improving, it's hard to tell when exactly he will return to living a normal life, if ever.
"He's here and he's alive, but to say it's not a long road and to say he's fully better is not the truth either," Kim Kardashian said on "On Air With Ryan Seacrest," according to E! News. "He has a lot of work to do and a lot of communication therapy and having to learn to walk again and to talk again. You never know if he'll ever be the same again."
Kim's sister and his estranged wife, Khloé, threw the former NBA player a birthday party in his hotel room last week so she could "make him feel amazing," as HNGN previously reported. She has barely left his side ever since he was hospitalized, and while promoting her new book, "Strong Looks Better Naked," she gave her fans a quick update on Odom's current situation.
"It's a long road for him," Khloé told Extra Wednesday. "He is alive on his own, and no machines are helping him, which is great, but he still has a lot of physical and cognitive therapy to go through."
Kim and their other sister, Kourtney, went to visit Odom in the hospital earlier this week and made it very clear that no matter what may be going on between him and Khloé, they will always care for him and support him.
"Lamar is family and he'll always be family, we'll always do what we can to help take care of him, and protect him, and be there for him," Kim continued to tell Seacrest. "It's a really unfortunate, sad situation all the way around the board, and I just encourage people to keep on praying because the road is nowhere near over."
