Lindsey Graham: U.S. Senator Warns Of Another 9/11 Attack On American Soil

United States Senator Lindsey Graham has called for an increased military presence in the Middle East on Sunday, following the brutal attacks on Paris last Friday. The GOP presidential candidate further warned that another "9/11 attack" might be coming if America does not play a more active role in the fight against the Islamic State, according to CNN.

"I'm trying to protect America from another 9/11, and without American boots on the ground in Syria and Iraq, we're going to get hit here at home. And if you don't understand that, you're not ready to be commander-in-chief, in my view," Graham said.

The multiple attacks on France have left 129 dead and another 350 wounded, with almost 100 of the victims currently in critical condition. Though a White House official has stated that there is no clear indication of a direct threat to the United States at this time, it is clear that America is in the sights of the Islamic State, reports The Huffington Post.

"There is a 9/11 coming, and it is coming from Syria if we don't disrupt their operation inside of Syria. If we don't do these things soon, what you've seen in Paris is coming to America," Graham said.

In order to curb this threat, Graham suggested that the United States send 10,000 troops in Iraq and Syria to help fight the Islamic State.
