'Sister Wives' RECAP: Meri Brown Reveals Online Relationship, Admits To Being Catfished (VIDEO)

On the season finale of TLC's "Sister Wives," Meri Brown attempted to come clean to her husband Kody and her sister wives Janelle, Christine and Robyn about the secret she's been keeping from them. On the last day of the polygamist family's vacation to Alaska, she dropped hints about why she's been pulling away from the family, and revealed in her on-camera interview that she was "catfished" into an online relationship with a woman who pretended to be a man.

During a dinner with Kody and her sister wives, Meri was nervous as she tried to explain why she's been distant with her family members. Meri, who is Kody's first wife, voluntarily divorced the family patriarch so he could marry his fourth wife Robyn and adopt her three children from her previous marriage.

"I hate bringing it up because we're talking about happy things," Meri said. "We're talking about the kids, Madison, this fabulous trip we've been on. This is really that bad and I don't know how to do it when all eyes are on me, and I know they have been for a while cause they know something's been going on."

She explained to Kody, Janelle and Robyn that she's felt like she's been in limbo and she's been suffering from empty nest syndrome ever since her only child Mariah left for college. She's been struggling with feeling lonely and isolated from her sister wives and her husband.

"Meri's been very different," Robyn explained in her on-camera interview, where she broke down in tears. "I just stated trying to talk to her, she has talked to me before about 'I don't know where I fit in the family.' The answer is screaming at us, this is your family! We love you, the kids love you, this is where you shine."

Earlier this year, Meri was involved in an online relationship with a woman who pretended to be a man, as previously reported by HNGN. Meri revealed that she was catfished during a vulnerable time when she was in the process of divorcing Kody, and she questioned whether she wanted to stay with her polygamist family. She said that she pulled away from the family because she was afraid of what her online catfish would do to her and the family if she confronted the woman, since she felt threatened and targeted by the unknown person.

"She's struggling," Kody said in his on-camera interview. "It seems like she's lost her identity, it's weird some of the words she's saying. It sounds like she's leaving, I don't know what to make of this."
