Agents of Shield Spoilers: Show EP Talks Skye and the Rising Tide; Do You Trust the Hacker?

There are a few underlying storylines in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

One of the major ones has to do with Skye’s (Chloe Bennet) loyalty to the team. If you’ve been wondering when her potential undercover operation is going to create a conflict, the show’s executive producer and head of Marvel Television Jeph Leob recently provided some insight.

“[Rising Tide] certainly will offer complications. Episode 5, in particular, will start to focus in more on that,” he said according to TVLine during the 2013 New York Comic Con. “[The Big Bad] may be them, or it may be something else that delivers a smackdown. But there is something coming.”

I still have some theories about Skye and her motives. So far she’s been (or may just acted as) the rookie spy who can’t do much of anything besides being an expert hacker. She doesn’t seem to be able to handle a gun or throw a real punch.

However, I’m under the impression that she’s able to do a lot more than she lets on. For example, it would not be a surprise if she’s able to handle herself in combat. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t think she’s on Melinda May’s (Ming-Na Wen) level. (You can catch some of Melinda May’s skills in this video on ABC.com.) Nevertheless, something tells me those soft punches she was giving the punching bag in Episode 3 were just a farce.

Also, I wouldn’t be shocked if she is a bit of a marksman with a gun.

What do you think Skye is hiding?

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
