Netflix rolled out an update to its Android app Wednesday, making it faster with smoother navigation and an overhauled user interface.
Fast smartphones and tablets are a good selling point because they give the best user experience. Despite this if some of the most favorite apps lag and stutter then it quickly brings down the level of excitement. Netflix Android app, a favorite, did not deliver the best user experience despite several updates. But users mainly relied on the app as it is the best source for video streaming on Android and Chromecast compatible. Netflix finally decided to change that by rolling out a latest update to enhance the overall user-experience.
The updated Netflix app for Android devices is completely revamped with fast touch response, smoother UI, improved lock screen playback controls, and a better navigation bar. The change was first spotted by Android Police and it added an APK file for those users who can't wait to get their hands on the updated version of Netflix app.
According to the tech site, the new app also works fine with Chromecast as it features improved in-app controls and better lock screen controls. In addition, the Netflix app no longer lags or stutters, in fact it plays in an efficient and smooth way.
The navigation bar is improved with hamburger navigation panel on the left and an overflow menu button on the right for quicker access to wide range of options.
But one thing that users may have expected for a long time - support for Netflix's new profiles feature, is not included. If Netflix introduces the feature for Android smartphones, users will be able to have separate recommendations on the same account.
The update will be rolled out to all users eventually or users can download the mirrored APK files below.
