Arkansas School Bus Hijacked By Knife Wielding Man (VIDEO)

Nicholas John Miller, 22, was arrested on 12 felony counts of kidnapping after hijacking a school bus in Arkansas on Thursday morning, CNN reported.

The 11 students on their way to Pinewood Elementary school, as well as the bus driver, were not injured according to CNN.

The incident began in Jacksonville when Miller allegedly demanded a woman's car but she did not have one, causing him to spot a stopped school bus, Jacksonville Police Captain Kenny Boyd said, according to CNN.

Miller jumped onto the school bus and used a knife to take over the driver's seat and lead Jacksonville police on a chase down a highway near Cabot, Jacksonville, where the chase ended, CNN reported. Deb Roush with the Pulaski County School District said the suspect boarded the bus at a regularly scheduled bus stop, according to THV11, a local Arkansas news station.

"We were able to get the bus stopped," Boyd said, according to CNN. "The suspect was taken into custody, and nobody was injured."

Miller was being charged with a felony count of vehicle piracy, along with kidnapping, and two felony counts of aggravated assault, a spokeswoman from Jacksonville, April Kiser, told THV11. Kiser said the police placed spikes on the highway road, and when Miller saw them, he pulled over. According to Kiser, Miller has a history with Jacksonville police, with at least six different reports.

THV11 reported the most recent arrest occurred on Oct. 8 of this year when Miller was charged with terroristic threatening following a domestic dispute; according to the report a family member claimed Miller was likely high on methamphetamine, which they referred to as his "drug of choice."

Elsie Miller, John's grandmother, told CNN that she didn't know why he would hijack a bus and hasn't spoken to him since he was arrested.

"He has a good heart," she said. "I am totally surprised."
