Jake Locker Injury UPDATE: Titans QB Takes ‘Majority’ Of Practice Reps, Could Play Sunday Against 49ers

Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker took the majority of snaps during practice on Friday. Still recovering from his sprain knee and hip, Locker hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers and could get the start.

Locker hasn't played since spraining his knee and hip on Sept. 29 against the New York Jets. His health appears to be improving though, and he resumed practicing on Wednesday, USA Today Sports reports.

During Wednesday's practice, Locker wore a brace on his injured right knee and walked with a limp. He participated in seven-on-seven drills and took a number of snaps with the full team.

Despite being listed as "limited" on the injury report, Titans coach Mike Munchak didn't rule out the possibility of Locker playing on Sunday.

"We're not declaring anything," Munchak told reporters on Wednesday, via USA Today Sports. "We're not saying (Locker's) out. But we're going forward like Ryan's starting. But we want to see how fast Jake comes along."

Locker appears to be coming along quicker than expected. On Friday, the Tennessean reported Locker took most of the snaps at practice.

"Locker took the majority of the reps in the individual portion of practice, open to media," Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean tweeted on Friday. "Easily more than Ryan Fitzpatrick."

Locker could be a game-time decision.

"He can play," Munchak told reporters on Thursday, via NFL.com. "It is just a matter of ... is he quite ready? There is no doubt the more you rest, the more you take off, the stronger your (knee) is going to feel. But it doesn't mean you can't play in the meantime."

Another scenario is the Titans wait until after their bye week next week to bring Locker back, according to NFL.com.
