Los Angeles continues to fight for their playoff lives. After forcing a sixth game in the NLCS, the Dodgers hope to take the Cardinals to seven games by winning on Friday.
Forcing a seventh game falls on Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw, who's set to duel Michael Wacha again. The pair dueled in Game 2, which the Cardinals won 1-0.
"Kershaw's a tough pitcher, obviously, and you saw that in his last start," Wacha told reporters, via ESPN. "But I try not to worry too much about who I'm facing.
"Just try to approach it like any other start and just worry about myself, really."
Wacha has enjoyed a tremendous playoff run. He's 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA in the postseason; he already has 17 strikeouts and has allowed just six hits through the 14 innings, according to ESPN.
"Just this whole postseason ride has been amazing," Wacha said. "Hopefully we can just keep it going."
Cardinals manager Mike Matheny added: "I just expect Michael to go out and do what he's done, just like the rest of our guys. Stick with what you've done all along the way, and don't ignore and don't deny the excitement."
With the possibility of winning the series, the Cardinals took a day off from working out, according to ESPN.
"We've had a lot of these lately," Matheny said. "Going back and forth I can feel a little jet lag. The guys aren't going to forget how to hit, forget how to throw."
As for the Dodgers, manager Don Mattingly expects Hanley Ramirez (ribs) and Andre Ethier (ankle) to play on Friday.
