India dropped their first ODI against Australia, losing by 72 runs. India bounced back to win the second ODI by 9 wickets. The squad will look for big performances from Rohit Sharma and captain MS Dhoni. Shikhar Dhawan admitted his squad as a new mentality, boosted by confidence.
"Unlike earlier times when we used to think that too many runs had been scored, these days with great team effort we can make it," Dhawan said, via CricBuzz.
Australia's batters have been incredible throughout the series, proving they can score runs even without Michael Clarke in the lineup, according to CricBuzz. Skipper George Bailey and Aaron Finch have led the offensive efforts for Australia.
Despite dropping the last ODI, Bailey is confident about the talent in their squad and believes his bowlers can hold their own against India.
"Personally, I like to back the group we have. I want to give them a chance and I feel they can get on top of that Indian batting line-up," said Bailey.
Rajarshi Gupta of CricBuzz describes the expected weather and pitch condition for Saturday:
"It should be a perfect day for cricket with bright sunshine forecast for the next few days. Unlike Rajasthan, Punjab will be far more pleasant with the onset of winter in North India. The PCA stadium pitch has generally offered a bit more bounce as compared to the other grounds and the wicket for the 3rd ODI will be expected to aid the pacers."
In 115 matches played, Australia has won 65 and India has won 38.
