Reign CW: Review After the Series Premiere; There Are Three Things That Make This a Good Show

The premiere of “Reign” aired Thursday and for the most part the show got off to a good start.

The CW drama already has a love triangle, allusions to magic and a diabolical plot to destroy the main character—each of which makes a good drama.

Before I expand on the aforementioned things that make the show solid, I’ll get the one thing I detested about the “Reign” pilot out of the way.

There was way too much music. I felt like half the show was music and no dialogue and it was sort of annoying. Hopefully that’s not the case going forward.

Now let’s get to the three things:

Love Triangle : has another plan

Allusion to Magic: We were introduced to Nostradamus the Seer (Rossif Sutherland), the queen’s servant, at the beginning of the episode. It’s possible that there is more magic to come, magic that could even rival that of Queen Catherine’s (Megan Follows) servant. Do you think Magic should be put into the show?

Diabolical Plot to Destroy the Main Character: Queen Catherine has already tried to keep Mary from marrying her son once and will undoubtedly try again. However, it may be hard with Mary's mysterious ally. Do you think Catherine’s plan is justified? Or are you anxious to see her demise?

Let me know what you think in the comment section below.

“Reign” airs on Thursdays at 9/8c on The CW.
