Even though we're still a few weeks out from the release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," we believe it's never too early to start discussing "Star Wars: Episode VIII." That's just how the Force rolls.
It's true that we know close to nothing about Mark Hamill's role in J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Is he in self-imposed exile? Has he turned to the Dark Side? Why has he been missing from all of the promotional material for the new movie.
Whatever the case may be, we now know for sure that Luke Skywalker will be back in some form for "Episode VII" as Hamill himself confirmed it on Twitter.
In response to a fan's question on social media, Hamill admitted that he hasn't shaved in a month in order to get the necessary beardage for "Star Wars." Like Obi-Wan Kenobi before him, Luke is rocking the Jedi Master facial hair which we can all totally respect.
This news doesn't come as a big surprise as it was generally assumed among fans that Luke would be present in future "Star Wars" installments. But firm confirmation is obviously better than just fan speculation.
We'll find out just what exactly is going on with Luke Skywalker when "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" hits theaters on Dec. 18.
