'Star Wars': Google Adjusts Apps For Star Wars Fans

As of Monday, Google users who log in on their Chrome browser will be able choose whether they are with the Empire or against it and their choice will affect the appearance of their Google apps such as Maps, Gmail, search and YouTube.

Some of the changes include a red or blue lightsaber loading bar in Gmail or an X-Wing or TIE Fighter to help your Google Map search. Star Wars milestones are also added to the Google Calendar and Star Wars images appearing each time a new tab opens in Chrome.

The company has gone all the way by tracking which side if being chosen over the other. Google has already promised more "Star Wars" tributes as fans await the release of the new film, expected on Dec. 18, The Verge reports.

The company said the website was a collaboration between Google, Lucasfilms and Disney, according to CCM. Unfortunately the changes will not work with work, education or government accounts with Google, Business Insider reports.
