Marvel's up-and-coming Netflix empire just keeps growing.
Sonia Braga, the three-time Golden Globe nominee who was pretty huge in the 1980s, has joined Marvel's "Luke Cage." She will play the mother of Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple who was first introduced in "Daredevil" and can be seen again in "Jessica Jones."
Marvel.com made the casting official.
Braga has enjoyed a long career in which she's appeared in such hits as "Royal Pains," "Warehouse 13," "Brothers & Sisters," "Alias" and "Sex and the City."
Luke Cage is played by Mike Colter, who can be seen co-starring with Krysten Ritter in "Jessica Jones" right now. His spinoff series will debut sometime in 2016. "Luke Cage" is the third of four planned Netflix Marvel superhero series that will culminate with a "Defenders" crossover.
