Crusoe the celebrity Dachshund has decided to go hunting; after all, Dachshund's are hunting dogs, aren't they?
A tiny plaid hat and rifle was all the gear that the wiener dog needed to smoke out all interesting critters or smells, reported Mashable.
Crusoe has his own blog and web page and is currently on a book tour over the U.S. and Canada!
"He's a small dog with a big character," said Ryan Beauchesne, who, along with his girlfriend Lauren Dionne, owns and manage 6-year-old Crusoe, according to CTV Ottawa.
It all started when the couple created a blog about their new puppy five years ago. The initial idea was to share pictures among family and friends, but the blog and accompanying YouTube Channel took off, and the rest is history.
The blog shows Crusoe dressed in costumes, and the couple writes short stories from the dog's point-of-view. Crusoe is often accompanied by his trusty side-kick and sibling, Oakley.
"It's funny to see life from a dog's perspective, but it's even funnier to see it from a dog who thinks he's a chef, or a pilot, or a captain," Beauchesne said. The growing hits on Crusoe's page caught the attention of a book publisher, who offered Beauchesne a book deal.
"Crusoe, The Celebrity Dachshund" currently stands at ninth among animal books on the New York Times Best Sellers list.
"When I found out we were a New York Times Best Seller, I literally almost cried. I really didn't think that would ever happen," Beauchesne told CTV Ottawa.
