Las Vegas Shooting Leaves One Dead, Two Wounded; Suspect Tackled By Patrons Before More Harm Was Done

A shooting at a Las Vegas nightclub left one dead and two injured on Monday morning, USA TODAY reported.

The shooting occurred around 6:00 a.m. at Drai's, an after-hours club inside Bally's casino. The victims were taken to the University Medical Center (UMC) and the suspect is in custody according to Lt. Jay Roberts of the Las Vegas Metro Police.

According to Fox 5, a witness said a fight broke out at the club leading the owners to ask the suspect to leave, who then pulled out a gun and shot three hosts.

The shooter was reportedly stopped by patrons after he opened fire and was also taken to UMC. He is expected to be booked at Clark County Detention Center once he is released, according to The Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Roberts said the suspect shot three to four bullets before being tackled by witnesses. The injuries suffered by other victims were not immediately available.

The Seattle Times reported that the casino remained open after the shooting, but police tape barricaded sections of slot machines outside of the club.

The investigation is ongoing.

Earlier in February, a shooting happened on the Las Vegas Strip that killed three people and injured six.

An unidentified person driving a black Range Rover shot at a Maserati which then hit a taxi, making it burst into flames.

"This doesn't happen where we come from, not on this scale," said Mark Thompson, who was visiting from England, with his wife. "We get stabbings, and gang violence, but this is like something out of a movie. Like 'Die Hard' or something."

The brutal shooting caused six other cars to crash as well. According to The Huffington Post, police said they believed the shooting could have been the result of an altercation at Aria but could not confirm the possibility.
