Fresh off of a cyberattack on the group's #SupportISIS hashtag, a prominent ISIS website on the dark web, Isdrat, has been successfully hacked by cyber-vigilantes. The propaganda website, which was put up by the terror group last week, has been replaced with an ad for Prozac and Viagra tablets, encouraging would-be terrorists to "calm down," according to The Daily Mail.
The group behind the attack is known by the moniker Ghost Sec, hackers that are affiliated with Anonymous, which has declared a cyberwar on ISIS in the wake of the Paris terror attacks.
Instead of the usual propaganda website in Arabic, users of the deep web trying access information about the Islamic State are greeted with a very brief message. "Too Much ISIS. Enhance your calm. Too many people are into this ISIS-stuff," the message on the hacked website read, according to the Express U.K. "Please gaze upon this lovely ad so we can upgrade our infrastructure to give you ISIS content you all so desperately crave."
Despite initial skepticism, the Islamic State seems to have finally realized the dangers of cyberattacks to its powerful online presence. In response to the continued attacks, ISIS has allegedly started offering jihadis 24-hour technical support to prevent their accounts from being compromised.
The cyberwarriors have also finally earned the support of some key government officials, with U.K. Security Minister John Hayes praising the group for their counter terrorism work while addressing the House of Commons home affairs committee. "I am grateful for any of those who are engaged in the battle against this kind of wickedness," he said.
