As the country remains on national alert to deal with the terror threat of the Islamic State, Chinese robotics company HIT Robot Group unveiled three very interesting machines at this week's 2015 World Robot Conference in Beijing. Dubbed as "anti-terror" machines, the toy-sized robots provide China with one of the most efficient lines of defense in the fight against extremist forces, according to The Telegraph.
The trio of machines are designed to coordinate with each other, with each model playing an important part in the fight against a perceived threat. The first robot is designed to be used for initial reconnaissance missions. With the ability to detect poisonous gases, harmful chemicals and explosives, the machines will be able to give soldiers pertinent data about any location it is deployed in.
If the reconnaissance robot does detect a threat, such as a bomb, for example, another robot will be brought in to tackle the situation. Known as an ordnance disposal machine (EOD), it would be sent in the area to address any dangers picked up by the reconnaissance unit, reported the Daily Mail.
When push comes to shove, however, a third robot, known as the armed attacker, will be deployed. The attacker robot is armed with minor-caliber weapons, recoil-less rifles and grenade launchers. It is also equipped with a sighting telescope, a trigger, and a safe.
The attacker robot is also allegedly capable of hitting targets from a long distance.
The three robots are being sold as a set that is currently being offered for about $235,000.
