If the latest leak of information is to be believed "Star Wars" fans might not have to wait as long as previously thought to see J.J. Abrams' revival of the franchise; reports say that the film is scheduled to be released in "Spring/Summer 2015," according to Yahoo.
Prior to this report it was thought that various delays - for example, it is not known if any actors have even been cast for the film - would force the film to not open until Dec. 2015.
The new information comes from a brochure that was handed out at the European Brand Licensing Show. Within the brochure were a bunch of potential release dates for "Star Wars" related things including: "Star Wars" Mobile LEGO games, the launch of a "Star Wars" Digital Library, and the release of multiple "Darth Vader Themed TV Specials," according to Jedi News.
There had been no previous mention of TV specials involving Vader, although, don't get too excited as they may only be happening in Europe.
Other "Star Wars" related news revolves around the potential return of another character from the original trilogy, Lando Calrissian. Billy Dee Williams, the actor who portrayed Han Solo's buddy, spoke at the Nashville Comic Con and mentioned the idea of coming back with an evil son, according to Comicbook.com.
"My idea was to come back with a daughter who was a Jedi, a beautiful daughter who was a Jedi," Williams said. "But then somebody else came up with the idea of having a son, who's a villain, which would be very interesting."
While there is still no word on what exactly the plot of the new film will be many of the actors from the original trilogy have expressed interest in returning, including the former Colt 45 pitchman.
"I don't know what they're doing, but they're still just in the middle of writing all that stuff," Williams said. "Obviously a lot of rumors are going around, but I don't know. But if they ask, I'm quite happy to do it."
Filming for the new "Star Wars" is expected to start at the beginning of 2014; keeping checking in with HNGN for all of the latest rumors and casting updates.
