Colorado Pastors Claim Girl Scouts Supports 'Lesbianism,' Abortion, And Influences Women To Compete With Men In The 'Marketplace' (LISTEN)

Two Colorado pastors denounced purchasing Girl Scout cookies for promoting "lesbianism" and abortion on their radio program, calling the popular dessert "food offered to idols" that promotes women competing with men, Right Wing Watch reported.

Pastors Kevin Swanson and David Buehner of Generations Radio suggested to listeners that they should "take a big, fat, black magic marker" and "start marking out all of the references to the Girl Scouts of America on all the boxes."

"Please, I beg of you, do not buy Girl Scout cookies," Swanson said. "Please, I beg of you, stop buying Girl Scout cookies."

"The individualism of feminism has been devastating to this country. I'd say you ought to say no the Girl Scout cookies too. I don't want to support lesbianism, I don't want to support Planned Parenthood and I don't want to support abortion, and if that be the case I'm not buying Girl Scout cookies."

Buehner added that Christians should be careful what the purchase.

"Those are some pretty expensive cookies you're eating though. At some point a Christian has to say, 'the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,' and where you spend your money does count," Buehner said.

He also said the organization influences girls to "compete with men in the marketplace" when women should instead be taught to "a woman who will be a help meet to a man so he can compete in the marketplace."

Swanson agreed and claimed the Girls Scouts organization is antithetical to the Bible.

"It does and I don't want to promote a wicked organization that according to its own website doesn't promote godly womanhood, it just doesn't, I don't see anything that promotes godly womanhood. The vision of the Girl Scouts of America is antithetical to a biblical vision for womanhood, it's antithetical to it," Swanson said.

Conservatives have been vocal about their criticism of the Girl Scouts for a long time. In 2012, the Family Research Council declared their boycott of Girl Scout products for their "support for abortion and partnership with Planned Parenthood."
